Well I met Donnelle what, 16 years ago
Well I met Donnelle what, 16 years ago I guess it was. We were in a hunting unit and we all went in for lunch and she happened to be the only female in the whole bunch of about 60 guys and they’re eating. We noticed each other and we just kinda migrated to one another and just started talking I’m sure about hunting, our families, and whatnot. And kinda left after that day and about 10 years later she gave me her business card because they had a hunting map business, and about 10 years later just because for whatever reason we didn’t follow up with each other and I called her needing a map remembering that she did maps and I drew a special draw here in Colorado Unit 21 and called her up to see if I could get a map of the area and the rest is history. We just started hanging out and found somebody in that 2% that loves hunting as much as I do as a female and we’ve been hunting partners ever since and best friends, so.
Well folks, here’s the takeaway from that. You never know where a relationship’s gonna lead. So if you see somebody interesting, somebody that you wanted to talk to, go and talk to ’em. Because you never know what that’s going to be in the future. And obviously Donnell and Lisa get asked all the time, “Hey, what’s it take to get in the outdoor industry. So Lisa, kinda share what your journey was and how you found yourself at HuntData.

Well we teach many, depending on the time of year of when we’re asked to come and teach which is quite often. So we teach anything from archery, intro to archery to From the Field to the Table, I’m getting ready this next month at Cabela’s, both stores I’ll be teaching Insight to Elk Hunting. Anywhere from calling to preparing yourself, to making the shot with archery, muzzleloader or rifle. We’ve taught Intro to Turkey, we teach a lot of classes of where to hunt using our maps and our software with HuntData.
Because I’m a strong believer you have to know where you’re going in order to even put on a good hunt out there. So I just know since I’ve been working with HuntData for five years now, all of the places I’ve spent a lifetime looking for, those honey holes that we all dream about and want to find, took me a lot of miles and a lot of walking and hiking. And our maps, with HuntData every single one of them I can’t even find one that I don’t find that my honey hole is not on there as an elk migration. So they really do work. If I would’ve had those 20 years ago I would’ve made myself a lot easier hunting out there, so.
