I am a 20-year-old journalism student at the University of Denver.

Recent work: Negotiating the complexities of the draw in Colorado

When I was 16, I went on my very first elk hunt. Since then, I have continued hunting elk with my family, harvesting my very first elk when I was 19.

I am passionate about photography, which hunting gives me the opportunity to do.

Though I still feel very new to hunting with a lot left to learn, I am eager to learn more about it and continue big-game hunting. Jessica Johnson
