I grew up hunting and fishing with my father for as many years as I can remember. From ice fishing trips to Hamlin lake or smelt dipping in the carp river in the U.P he always brought me along. Rob Augustyn is Relentless Addiction Outdoors. Some of my best memories are of the pre fishing or hunting shopping trips with him then stopping in the morning to the coffee pot restaurant for breakfast. I always ordered the same thing as he did except with hot chocolate. I have chased Whitetail deer all around Michigan mostly on State land and a little bit of private.

Nothing is better than watching the sunrise from either the treestand or above your fishing rod. Now I try to pass what i know onto my son as well as the tradition of it all. The memories of my father are starting to fade and being replaced with the new ones my son and I are making out in the great outdoors. Rob Augustyn is Relentless Addiction Outdoors

if he decides he wants to do something in the hunting industry,

I was working with another group, just as more or less fun, we were going to put out a DVD or something like that, and it kind of overwhelmed it with how much I was actually enjoying doing that. And so I started my own, and I did it more, as a start, well, if my son, Christian, if he decides he wants to do something in the hunting industry, I’ll have some connections for him, and it just kind of snowballed from there, and we’ve grown so fast. It’s been a sheer pleasurable ride, let’s say. My son is huge into it, he talks about it 24/7, he gets involved with his school and getting his school involved in it and everything else, too, so that’s a good thing.

Even if you’re a non-hunter, just to experience the camaraderie, and guys get nicknames and stuff happens. And you’ve got your, ‘what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas,’ well, it’s kind of the same thing with deer camp. It’s just a good time and bringing back that, our lives are so hectic with work and with kids in travel baseball or football, that it’s just nice to forget everything, forget Facebook for a minute, forget Twitter and Instagram and just get to bond. Some of the best things that have ever happened between me and my son have happened in the woods of that deer camp, and we still talk about it.

He has his nickname, now, Fabreze

He has his nickname, now, Fabreze, because he’s got to keep everything fresh. He got it because we were on our way down to Alabama for a deer hunt and we drove about three hours from our house to pick up a buddy. We’re 20 minutes from the guy’s driveway and my son looks at me and says, ‘dad, I forgot my wallet.’ Well, in his wallet is his hunter’s safety certificate, which is the only way that he can get a license. So we had to turn around and drive all the way home and then go back down, so we’re running a little behind. That’s something that we’ll always remember, and it’s a great thing. It’s really nothing but it was just a great story and it’s a great bonding experience for him and I.

You can hunt them 365 days a year

In Michigan, we just, we had a season for coyotes and they just opened it up so it’s a full-time thing. You can hunt them 365 days a year, which is huge because we have a huge coyote problem to the point where it’s hurting the wildlife. I had a deer ten yards off my stand, hunted it on a Thursday, came back on Saturday to hunt again and there was a deer that was taken down and completely demolished by coyotes. This was on my private land, so I know it wasn’t shot, because of where it was located, so I was like, ‘wow, this is bad.’ I’d gotten a few pictures of coyotes, now, on my cameras, and so I really push hunting them as much as possible
