It’s not that simple but it is. And that’s the way it is. Hey, you mentioned something about 2006 you got into the industry. Tell us about the start of how you did that, how you broke into the outdoor industry.

I was on Mossy Oaks internet, or their website one day, and I saw where, I don’t even know how I stumbled across it, I didn’t even know you could do such by then. But I stumbled across the application for pro staff. And I applied and couple weeks later a guy called and he said, “Hey I’m with so-and-so with Mossy Oak,

Hey I’m with so-and-so with Mossy Oak,

I’d like to do a phone interview with you and I said, “Okay.” And he said, “Okay, I’ll be in touch.” And usually when folks say I’ll be in touch that’s pretty much a kind way of saying no. Well, lo and behold about three days later he called back and he said, “You got it.” And that was the highlight of my life and I just felt like, wow, I couldn’t even believe it.

And I was with them for two years and it was amazing. I went to trade shows, I started getting into the trade shows and meeting people I never thought I’d ever meet.  And then I somehow to be honest with you, in 2006 I met Scott Carroll and started talking to him a lot on the phone and I ended up meeting him and Brad Frost the owners and host of our show and ever since then it’s just been awesome.

ever since then it’s just been awesome.

One door’s open, God closes some doors, but every door he closed he opened another one. There was a brief time there I went through a divorce, if anybody goes through a divorce your mind gets all scatterbrained and it’s tough and they understood that. They understood that well and they let me go and I’m still with them, still kicking’. Like I say I haven’t been in the woods, I haven’t been able to do anything for two years with them at all except visit and talk on the phone, but I take care of all their social media, I try to get sponsors and thank the sponsors and keep up with the sponsors. And it takes a load off of them so they can do what they need to do and I handle the computer end of it for now.
